To be loved and not fully known is shallow and unstable. One of the worst nightmares as women is to be fully known and not loved for who we are.
Quick story...
When I first started dating, the hardest part for me in the relationship was letting my walls down. You know what I mean, right? Not letting them see every side of you, just the “I am a girl that loves God and here’s my good side”, type of person. While the question, “ Will he really love me once he really knows me?” creeps in the back of my mind, I build a trusty fortress. This triggered me to put up walls, to prevent him from getting too close.
I have to admit that the pain of rejection from someone that fully knows me can cut deep. Well the end of the story is I realized something really quick, “You cannot fully love someone if they hide who they truly are”. I immediately thought about God.
The Truth is, we translate the same mentality to our relationship with God. See, God is ready to fully love you. God’s love is not only something He merely gives but it’s who He is.
Our relationship with God now depends on us. He is a gentleman and He will only tear the walls down, that you let Him tear down.
Are you willing to be fully known by God? It takes a lot of faith and trust in Him. Until you decide to be you, you could end up rejecting God’s love and blessings away.
Don’t believe me? Read Genesis 27.
There you’ll find a man named Jacob. He took his brother’s identity and pretended to be him, all to steal his blessing.
Here is the twist, as soon as he received the “blessing”, He has to run for his life because his brother wants to kill him. It caused an extreme division with him and his family.
God cannot and will not bless someone you pretend to be. Jacob was given a second chance by God to be blessed. He first had to confess his true identity and the ugly truth that he was a deceiver. The most unexpected thing happened, God did not reject Him or punish Him. Instead, God blessed Him and showed kindness not only to him, but his children and his children’s children. That is the place of being fully known and fully loved. (Genesis 32:27)
God can only bless the real, raw version of yourself. God has already loved you. Yes you! Tear down the walls of your heart because He wants to heal you. Break the insecurities because He wants to give you confidence. God needs all of you first, to then show you who you are in Him.
He saw you and your mistakes before He took on the cross and paid it all for you. He saw your weakness and He still rose from the grave to give you His spirit.
1 John 4:19 says:
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.”
God loved you first before you loved Him.
The broken you is loved.
The weird you is loved.
The quirky you is loved.
The emotional you is loved.
The defensive you is loved.
You can be fully known and fully loved.
No devil can stop a woman who knows who she is and knows SHE IS LOVED. You are Her.
